I have a lot of people unknowingly ask me “What can they do to speed-up their computer?” I want to ask them; do you leave your socks on the floor, dishes in the sink? But not going behind yourself and cleaning up your computer is similar in the technology world. Both Windows and Macintosh PC’s have remnants equivalent to those daily things that need to be cleaned. Many individuals are always complaining that their computers are running slow or just plain not functioning properly. They don’t know why, let alone know that it is something that they can possibly fix themselves.

Bottom line; every so often, you have to clean house. Piriform just released new versions of CCleaner and Defraggler for free. It’s just like having someone come in and clean your house for free. Most of us will like that.

Running CCleaner first will clean up cached fragments, temporary files, tune up registry and uninstall unwanted files.

Next, run the Defraggler. This software will line up all your files, putting them in order so that programs will open quickly, run smoother while at the same time freeing up memory.

I bet some of you still have some of the newer utility software. Be careful in that some of these are just plain ole memory hogs. A lot that’s out there now are scams, tracking your moves in ways you are not even aware of. In some cases; making money off you while you work for them and don’t even know it.

CCleaner and Defraggler comes in your house, do only what they say they’re going to do, then get out of your way. They are not hanging around using up memory and slowing your computer down.
