NFL PreDraft talk with Hall of Famer Darrell Green’s son Jared Green

The NFL PreDraft buzz has started! I had a chance to chat with Jared Green son of Hall of Famer and former Washington Redskin Darrell Green to see how he feels about entering the draft and going to the NFL. Good Luck to all the guys in the NFL draft!

ChristieOhh: How does the buzz around the draft feel right now?

Jared: I feel good; I’m really excited about this opportunity. It’s a kid’s dream come true…to go to the draft. I feel special!

ChristieOhh: What’s your biggest anticipation about the Draft and the NFL?

Jared: I have a pretty good picture of what is going to happen. I’m humble about this opportunity and thankful to God. The bible says, “Don’t be anxious about anything” so I’m grounded and excited.

ChristieOhh: Do you have big shoes to feel or new shoes to wear?

Jared: I have new shoes to wear. I like the situation I’m in but I’m on the opposite side of the ball then my dad. I was speaking with a good friend, Lavar Arrington and he just expressed to me that, “The fact I am here is great and I’ve done a great job in high school, college and in the community.” That meant a lot to me.

ChristieOhh: Best college football moment?

Jared: 1st play of my freshman year, we played in front of a sold out crowd. I beat out Taylor Mays who was like the #1 safety at the time. I remember thinking to myself, “This is college football!”

ChristieOhh: Favorite NFL team and will that change once you’re drafted?

Jared: lol! I don’t have a favorite team or player. The Redskins will always be my family because they put food on my table. Outside of that it’s fair game! I like all teams and players, although that will probably change in the next several days.

ChristieOhh: What are your plans for the draft?

Jared: I’m going to have a private get together with my father, mentors, friends and fiancé. We are just going to relax and wait to see what happens.

ChristieOhh: Words you live by?

Jared: I live by the word of God. Don’t let anybody speak over your life or contain you. For kids, if other kids say you won’t be good, let that be the fuel to your fire. They said my dad was too short and now he’s considered one of the greatest shortest players in history.
