Founder/Executive Director of Agape’ Christian Counseling Center Ieshea Hartwell

ChristieOhh: What made you start your organization?

Agape’ CCC: Actually, I started my nonprofit organization because of my past and I decided I wanted to help other people that may be struggling emotionally and spiritually with domestic violence, infidelity, and a host of other issues.

ChristieOhh: What do you offer you clients?

Agape’ CCC: We help our clients through Christian counseling and consulting services. We form small group seminars and deal directly with them and their situation.

ChristieOhh: Do you have specialty areas for clients?

Agape’ CCC: With Christian counseling we cover all areas because our guide is the Holy Bible. However, we only deal with adult individuals, couples, and groups!

ChristieOhh: What about your past made you feel the need to form your organization?

Agape’ CCC: I’ve dealt with domestic violence and made some questionable choices; I was involved with a married man. When you put yourself in bad situations, it usually stems from having low self-esteem. I am here to help women find themselves, overcome the past and know they still have a future.

ChristieOhh: What type of seminars do you host?

Agape’ CCC: Our 1st program, W.O.W. Ministries, (Women of Worth”) has hosted seminars on building confidence and dealing with stress. We’ve partnered with other nonprofit organizations, such as the Salvation Army in Atlanta and “H.O.P.E.” Family Resource Center in Mableton for seminars & food/clothes drives. Helping people in the community is very important to us.

ChristieOhh: Will you be launching any new programs?

Agape’ CCC: Yes, I really would like to launch a new program. When I started the organization, I had in mind to launch 3 programs. However, I decided to launch W.O.W. Ministries, (“Women of Worth”), first and it has been doing very well. Next, I want to launch our couples’ program in the upcoming year. Currently, my husband and I teach a marriage enrichment class at my church.

ChristieOhh: What do you want people to know?

Agape’ CCC: To let go of the past and know you do have a future despite anything you have been through. Put Christ in the center of all that you do and you will accomplish things.
