ABC’s Bachelor & Bachelor Pad’s Jaclyn Swartz talk shows and getting back to normal
ChristieOhh: Your personality really shined on the show! What’s your background?
Jaclyn: I am just completely normal actually. I grew up in Massachusetts, went to University of Wisconsin. After college I moved to New York. A friend told me to do the show and it went from there.
ChristieOhh: How was your experience on the Bachelor Pad and the Bachelor?
Jaclyn: Bachelor really was not as much for me; 25 girls competing for one guy and I’m not just good with mushy feeling stuff. I felt really weird with jumping into a relationship and stuff so fast. Bachelor Pad was completely up my alley! To game and manipulate and win money is totally for me. The whole experience was amazing and totally something I enjoyed.
ChristieOhh: What did you learn from the show?
Jaclyn: I learned that I’m a crier. (lol) I definitely cried in most of the shows; even though you didn’t see it. I’m more sensitive than I thought. I had a really hard time acting and playing a part to win money. So, I rather be real and shun the people I can’t stand. I just went in as me and did my thing. My real tactic worked better and the people being faked went home first.
ChristieOhh: Did you hope to find a love interest?
Jaclyn: I think for Bachelor you go in thinking I could be engaged at the end of the show. But going into Bachelor Pad I was strictly there for money and I was open to the icing on the cake. I went in not knowing who I would be with or who I would go in with. You go in looking for the money and whatever opportunities that may come.
ChristieOhh: What’s going on now with you?
Jaclyn: Right now, in terms of where I am now just trying to get back to a normal life and still enjoying the Bachelor Pad me. I’m trying to shift my career with something more closely in lined with TV and entertainment. So I will see where I end up. For the most part I feel like two people and I am thankful for the opportunity to be on the shows.
“After the show you’re put in a house with 21 people, you build with people and become friends and I think it’s all a really interesting experience. It’s interesting to see how people are in the real world. Just seeing what groups are forming post show. I see Jamie at events and it’s weird and uncomfortable. And see Donna and its fun and exciting!”
