What’s up my fashion cardigans, this past Sunday was the biggest night in music. Yup the Grammy’s, and the red carpet was MAAAAAAJOR! Music heavyweights turned up wearing lots of shimmer and shine. Of all the red carpets during awards season the Grammy’s is by far the sexiest, as J. Lo showed us in 2000 with her infamous Versace gown. Some of my favorites included Adele (in Giorgio Armani) Carrie Underwood (in Gomez-Gracia) and Katy Perry (in Elie Saab). With all the glitz and glam it was Rihanna’s simple black deep plunging custom Giorgio Armani that made her my best dressed of the night.
I loved everything about the look, from her blonde tousled hair to her ankle strapped Christian Louboutin. Best dressed guy goes to Swizz Beatz who rocked a purple suede blazer courtesy of 3.1 Philip Lim. For more of my favorite looks from the Grammy’s check me out on Twitter @mrtopstyle4u. Until next time be safe be chic!
Swizz Beats & Alicia Keys
Well, it looks like January is a wrap and what better way to end the month than with couture! The Spring 2012 shows showcased amazing atelier, enviable embroidery, and sexy silhouettes. While each show was very different there was one recurring theme, pastels. Couture caters to those who have a higher appreciation for the art. It is during these shows that fashion houses are able to put their full design capabilities on display.
Armani Prive’ (my fav) and Givenchy really went for it, while others like Chanel and Valentino took a simpler approach. Being it’s the beginning of award’s season it’s always interesting to see what dress will turn up on what red carpet. After watching the gorgeous gowns of Elie Saab and Giambattista Valli go down the runway instantly one word came to mind, Oscars! For more of my favorite looks follow me on Twitter @Mrtopstyle4u.
It’s 2012 and time to take your fashion to the next level!! This past week
Milan, arguably the most chic place on Earth, kicked off Fall 2012 Fashion Week. The men’s fashion was nothing short of spectacular. The color palettes consisted of rich dark browns, forest greens, greys, and Giorgio Armani’s signature blue.
This particular season it appeared as though designers put a little more TLC
into the outwear. Sweaters appeared chunkier and the coats had just a bit more detail than seasons past. While I thoroughly enjoyed many of the shows, it was Ports 1961 that stole my heart. Creative directors Fiona Cibani & Ian Hylton really pushed the envelope while still producing wearable masculine pieces. From their cape style coats, to leather trenches each one more eye catching than the last. Here are a few pics from some of the other shows I couldn’t get enough of. A @mrtopstyle4u
Let the countdown begin, 2011 is a wrap my cardigans! It’s time to find that NYE outfit so you look amazing bringing in the new year. Party into the new year with a heightened sense of style. Ladies, opt for a simple LBD (little black dress) and let your shoes and outwear do the talking. This sequin jacket by, stylist turned designer, Rachel Zoe is everything and then some. Adding these Penelope & Coco booties instantly take your look to another level.
Nothing is more chic then mixing and matching of patterns and prints. Guys I strongly suggest a blazer that has some character like this two-toned Diesel one. A solid button down, dark denim, and possibly a bow-tie, if you are feeling extra GQ. You definitely have to bring your A game with the shoes and these Vivienne Westwood loafers are an A+. Have a safe & happy New Years, I can’t wait to bring you the 411 on fashion for 2012. Be safe be chic- @mrtopstyle4u
