Hello my cardigans!

 I hope you have had an extremely productive week! I have to take you across the pond to one of the most chic events of the year for men, London’s GQ Men Of The Year Awards.  The UK has some of the best shopping as well as home to some of the most stylish  individuals. This is one of the few award’s ceremony where the red carpet is more focused on the men. GQ takes the time every year to recognize men who’ve made an impact in their various fields.

Such categories include Solo Artist Of The Year, Designer Of The Year, Chef Of The Year, and many more. My favorite look goes to Mr. Tommy Hilfilger in his well tailored suit paired with dress slippers. I definitely applaud crooner, John Legend for taking a calculated risk, in plaid. Emma Watson does feminine edge so effortlessly, with a leather jacket and studded Louboutins with a McQ tartan dress. I could go on for days about the galactic duds and the stars that wore them. I’m back my cardigans !! I have been styling my butt off as well as working on my style guide which will be in stores March 2012. When it comes to shopping I’m a bit old fashion and prefer to do it in person versus online. Searching the web for a great men’s online store can be very overwhelming and quite time consuming. As I was reading a men’s fashion magazine I came across an ad for the online store Mr. Porter (mrporter.com).

From the moment the page loaded up I was instantly hooked. Mr. Porter is definitely my favorite men’s online store. They offer such a great selection for both the fashion forward and simple style guy. Whether you are into Gucci loafers and Lanvin cardigans or Converse and vintage T’s they have it all.Their knitwear is beyond words, from basic merino to chunky waffle styles. With the holidays fastly approaching you will want to check out their luggage so you can travel in style. Lastly, you must must must take a peek at the scarves! Hey my cardigans hope your week has been galactic!

Miuccia Prada, designer of fashion house Prada, decided after such a successful run of her first line to birth a second one in 1993, Miu Miu. From the first viewing it rapidly developed a fan base from ladies across the world. Those of you who go mad over mod will absolutely love this chic brand . Everything from the hemlines, to the silhouettes, to the fabrics exude that Twiggy mod feel.

What I love most about the line is that it’s fun and flirty while maintaining a sophisticated feel. The handbags are mostly very simple focusing on craftsmanship, but have some pretty sick hardware. I go bonkers over the brand’s shoes which are adorned with bows, crystals, and the use of peep toe. An added bonus is that a majority of the pieces will make the most amazing vintage. When purchasing your fall pieces always choose quality over quantity. Be chic be safe @mrtopstyle4u  

Hey my cardigans!  Hope your week has been extremely positive and productive! Over the past couple of years there has been a new breed of celebrities surfacing…. Fashion stylist! Hollywood and TV stars have become the fans, shelling out large sums of money just to become a part of the stylist’s roster. The fashion world is also shifting it’s focus to the people who play dress up to the elite.The amount of stylist attending runway shows, during the various fashion weeks, has dramatically increased. Designers have realized that while celebrities have tons of cash to spend on great garments, it’s their stylist who dictate a majority of what they will be wearing.

Stars are realizing that fashion has become an intricate part of developing their fan base and garnering attention from the press. The most famous as well as my favorite stylist hands down is Rachel Zoe. With one wave of her Birkin bag she takes celebs from “a mess” to “best dressed”. Rachel’s greatest work is the transformation of socialite Nicole Richie, turning her from a grungy misfit to a boho beauty. Kim Kardashian’s quick rise to the top of has been linked to Monica Rose (Kardashian’s stylist), who took her style from southern Cali girl to front row fashionista. A super star whose fashion choices are always the subject of discussion is Rihanna. The uber talented Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi have taken our favorite island girl and created an edgy fashion icon.

Since teaming up with their stylist these ladies have landed lucrative campaigns, front page covers of magazines, and even launched fashion collections. Men have also noticed the importance of having a stylist and jumped on board. Check out the pre and after stylist pics of the your favorite celebrities.
