Braxton’s Family Value Star, New Single “Party or Go Home” Trina Braxton

Monday, April 30th, 2012

ChristieOhh: “Party or Go Home” Where did the concept for the song come from?

Trina: I wanted to do something that reflected me and my personality. I’ve always done things with my sisters and since we aren’t working on anything together I thought this would be the best opportunity to do something creative.

ChristieOhh: What is “Boom Boom” all about?

Trina: “Boom Boom” is a term of endearment like calling someone, “Darling or Sweetheart.” I came up with the name Boom Boom…Hey Boom Boom! Just a little Trinism!

ChristieOhh: How does it feel to be back out there doing your thing?

Trina: I am absolutely elated. The fact that I did it on my own is awesome to me. It’s my own record label, I have my own producers. I can do things the way Trina wants it done. It has its pros and cons because I have a lot of work to do myself. It’s a lot different than being with a label because they do everything for you. I had to reestablish and be completely hands on. SolTri Entertainment is the name of my company. It’s my first and last name mixed.

ChristieOhh: Where would you like to see your career go from this point?

Trina: The first thing is I don’t want to limit myself. I’m an actress as well, I’ve worked on “Meet the Browns,” hosted UPN “Urban Idol,” and I have a few more entrepreneurial things that I am pursuing. I want to do everything!

ChristieOhh: How is your family enjoying your new song and everything you have going on?

Trina: They have been so supportive of me! We love each other no matter. And we will always support our individual projects. Like Toni’s new record; we support each other.

ChristieOhh: What can we expect from your album and dates?

Trina: I’m only doing an EP for now and hopefully it will be out by end of summer, early fall. Check out my site for events and updates at www.trinabraxton.com

ChristieOhh: Is it easier pursuing your career now that the children are older?

Trina: Absolutely, I spent all of my formative years raising children. Now that they are a lot older I can put more time into me. Not to say that I’m not there because I am but it’s a lot easier to get things done now that they are older. They want me to cook and as a bank that’s it. I have boys too!

ChristieOhh: How are you able to reinvent yourself?

Trina: In this industry you have to stay fresh and understand what’s going on around you. You don’t have to conform to everything but you have to know the demand. The Braxton’s Reality Show is true, we were not pieced together to make a show. It shows you the good and the bad. But we will always be there for each other. People may wonder why our show is named “Braxton Family values,” we wanted to show that it’s ok to have dysfunction, to fuss and fight… we are always going to pick each other up and be there no matter what.
